 Honey ants

If You thought that only "bees" produced honey, you are wrong

Honey ants, which live in the arid deserts of Australia, South and North America, are considered one of the strangest creatures in the world, due to the western strategy they follow in storing food.

Because of the scarcity of food habitats in the environment in which they live, a group of "worker ants" collect sugars from plants and empty their cargo into the mouths of another group of ants called "honey ants", to use them as living stores for food in times of drought.

 But how does this happen?!
At first the "honey ants" cling to the roof of the colony upside down, and keep this situation, and this matter is under the supervision of another group of "worker ants" whose task is to move the "honey ants" to safe places in the event of an emergency, and change their places based on the degree of humidity Inside the rooms, in addition to returning them to their places in the event of a fall

But what is the wisdom of the ants not moving and sticking to the ceiling of the rooms in this situation?
This situation leads to the "honey ant" retaining its energy and maintaining a minimum food consumption as a result of immobility, as the ants store approximately eight times their weight, and when they need food, the "hungry ant" sticks its mouth to the swollen ant's mouth, and then the latter reduces her stomach to squeeze out one drop into her sister's mouth

"Honey ants" are considered one of the best sources of sugar for the indigenous people in Australia, where other sources of honey are scarce due to the arid desert nature, and the price of one "honey ant" is about $20
